I thought it would be fun to try the Unofficial Macklemore Thrift Shop Challenge issued by one of my favorite blogs, Young House Love.  So I added my own spin to it and made it a prop shopping trip.  Following John and Sherry’s rules….here it goes!

Step #1. Go to a thrift shop with – just as the chorus of the song says – “$20 in your pocket” and take a picture.  So this has to be the absolute worst picture of me ever, but you do what you gotta do when cars are whizzing by on the road.  My spot is not exactly a traditional thrift shop, but it does fill the bill.

Step #2 was to spend your $20 any way you’d like and photograph your spoils.  I picked up two vintage child-size chairs.

Step #3. Find one item (or more) referenced in the song and snap a pic.  Just like Sherry, I happened upon a big a$$ coat (which smelled really bad).

Step 4 is to blog about it, but I have added my own flavor by showing how I used my Macklemore chairs (that’s going to be their name forever since it’s more interesting than saying little old white chairs).  Awww…isn’t 2-year-old Declan so cute?
